Amazon Pharmacy Expands Same-Day Prescription Delivery to 4,500+ Locations by Year's End

Amazon Pharmacy is set to expand its same-day prescription delivery service before the end of the year. The company will add around 2,000 new delivery locations, increasing access for customers across the US. This move comes as part of ongoing efforts to improve convenience for those needing medication quickly.

The expansion will bring Amazon Pharmacy's total number of delivery locations to over 4,500. New areas will include parts of Idaho and Massachusetts, where pharmacy closures and limited healthcare access have left some residents struggling. The service already covers all 50 states and Washington, DC.

Amazon Pharmacy also offers RxPass, a subscription service for Amazon Prime members. For $5 a month, subscribers can access a range of generic and brand-name medications at discounted rates. In 2025, the company introduced a caregiver support feature, allowing families to manage prescriptions for elderly or dependent relatives.

The latest growth follows Amazon's push to streamline medication delivery. While some online pharmacies in Europe have tested similar services, none currently match Amazon's scale in the US.

With this expansion, more customers will have faster access to essential medications. The service aims to fill gaps left by traditional pharmacy closures in underserved regions. Amazon Pharmacy continues to develop features that simplify prescription management for individuals and families alike.
