Allegheny Health Network's Behavioral Health Institute Moves to Modern Facility

Allegheny Health Network’s Psychiatry and Behavioral Health Institute has relocated to a new, modern space. The move took place on Friday, just in time for Mental Health Awareness Month in May. Staff and officials marked the occasion with a ribbon-cutting ceremony.

The institute has left its old facility at Four Allegheny Center behind. That building suffered from poor lighting, deteriorating conditions, and unreliable heating and cooling. Now, the team has settled into the third floor of the Federal North building on Pittsburgh’s North Side.

The new space features warm colours, welcoming artwork, and improved amenities. It also includes an upgraded Austin’s Playroom for children, funded by the Mario Lemieux Foundation. Longtime staff members, such as Dr. Anthony Mannarino and Dr. Gary Swanson, have moved into fresh offices alongside their colleagues. One key advantage of the new location is its proximity to other health departments. This setup will make it easier for teams to work together and provide more integrated care. The institute will begin seeing patients at the new site on May 11.

The relocation brings a brighter, more functional environment for both staff and patients. With better facilities and closer ties to other medical services, the institute aims to improve mental health care. The official opening on May 11 will mark the start of operations in the upgraded space.
