Employees of Yakutskenergo's Central Electrical Networks Master First Aid Skills
Specialists from the Central Electrical Networks of Yakutskenergo PJSC (part of the RusHydro Group) have successfully completed first aid training. The month-long program, conducted on a scheduled basis, covered all company employees—over 1,400 staff members.
The course was led by Darina Zhirkova, a paramedic with Yakutskenergo's Reliability, Industrial Safety, and Labor Protection Department. The training consisted of three sequential stages: theory, testing, and hands-on practice.
During the theoretical phase, employees studied key principles of first aid, including types of bleeding and methods to stop it, protocols for fractures and limb injuries, assistance techniques for strokes and heart attacks, measures for thermal, radiation, and electrical burns, responses to anaphylactic shock, and guidelines for transporting victims.
In the practical sessions, staff reinforced their knowledge using mannequins, practicing cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), including artificial respiration and chest compressions.
The course concluded with a test to assess participants' understanding of the material and their readiness to act in emergencies.
Yakutskenergo's personnel refresh their first aid skills every three years—a critical requirement, as the speed and accuracy of initial response can mean the difference between life and death for an injured person.
"Providing first aid isn't just a skill—it's every employee's responsibility," said paramedic Darina Zhirkova. "Workplace hazards are always present, and our goal is to be prepared to act swiftly and confidently when needed. I've seen firsthand how seriously the Central Electrical Networks team approaches this training, demonstrating a high level of engagement."
Regular employee training is a key component of Yakutskenergo PJSC's comprehensive occupational and industrial safety system. The company prioritizes preparing its staff for emergencies, enhancing the overall safety of its operations.
