A new programme is helping older adults learn how to fall more safely. Called Strong & Stable, it focuses on reducing injuries when falls occur rather than just preventing them. The techniques come from judo and stunt training, adapted for people over 55. Falls remain one of the top causes of injury among older adults. To address this, Matt Scheib—a stunt performer and Emmy nominee—co-founded The Falling Class and owns Atlanta Judo Midtown. He recently demonstrated basic methods for absorbing impact during a fall.

The *Strong & Stable* programme uses progressive drills in a padded, low-impact setting. Students learn proper body positioning to lessen the force of a fall. Instead of relying only on prevention or post-injury care, the training teaches practical ways to protect joints and bones if a tumble happens.

The programme offers hands-on practice in a controlled environment. Participants gain skills to reduce harm from falls, which could lower hospital visits and long-term complications. Classes are currently available, though specific locations beyond Atlanta have not been confirmed.
