Discover Wild Herbs on a Guided Nature Walk This May

A guided wild herb walk will take place on Tuesday, May 5, led by certified nature and landscape guide Iris Lau. The two-hour tour will explore the nutritional value and unique properties of local wild plants in the area. The walk begins at 5:30 PM from the parking lot of Otto Stops’ gravel pit, situated at Waldnieler Straße/Vorster Straße 1. Participants will examine herbs such as meadow hogweed, St. John’s wort, willowherb, and common daisy along the route.

Lau will share details about the distinctive qualities of these plants and their ideal harvesting times. The event is designed to highlight the richness of wild flora in the region. The tour will wrap up at 7:30 PM, offering attendees a chance to learn about edible and beneficial plants in their natural habitat.

The guided walk provides an opportunity to discover the diversity of local wild herbs. Attendees will leave with a better understanding of their uses and seasonal availability. No prior knowledge of plants is required to join.
